Fitter Apprenticeship

Want to work outside in a practical role but also use your brain and enjoy lots of variety?

Our Craftsperson Fitter apprenticeship is perfect for those leaving school who want to put their energy and ambition straight to work. But it’s also a route into working in an innovative industry for those looking for a qualification or a change of direction.

Craftsperson Fitters carry out the annual maintenance of plant and switchgear up to 66kV. They’re also responsible for the programming and monitoring of immediate work colleagues and switching up to 66kV, among other tasks.

Your comprehensive training begins with twelve weeks based at our Training School, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of your role. Safety, for example, is vital in our work and so you’ll learn all about Health & Safety. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore other Crafts and get an appreciation of how you’ll work collaboratively with your colleagues across the business.

You can apply if you have five GCSE’s graded A*-C/4-9, including Maths, English Language and a Science, or a Level 3 Electrical qualification* (not Electrical Installation). For example, BTEC/NVQ along with GCSE Maths and English Language graded A*-C/4-9.
