As the largest electricity distribution network in the UK, we can offer graduate trainees a rewarding career with great potential and a competitive salary.
Talented, passionate people who share our energy and ambition will find we offer all the training and support you need to become a specialist in the field, working at the forefront of the industry and across our business in the Midlands, South West and South Wales.
Our 18 month programme is structured, comprehensive and designed to give you all the skills and knowledge you need through extensive formal training and supported, hands-on placements across the business.
You will gain invaluable experience of different technical roles and business areas, and technical knowledge of constructing, repairing and maintaining the network at high and low voltages.
Successful completion means you are qualified to apply for roles across the business within Network Services, Major Projects, Primary System Design or Future/Low Carbon Networks.
There will be rotations through the six fundamental areas of training . As this is a tailored programme, guided by your personal development needs, you will be able to explore the additional training opportunities with your manager and decide the most appropriate time for you to undertake each area of training.
Working from your base location and with your Line Manager throughout the programme, you will complete a range of objectives across your modules and placements.
Modules and placements can vary from 4-20 weeks and may take place at any other depot within our business areas. In between placements you will return to your base location. After your initial six months you will be free to manage your own modules and placements. You will have the freedom to drive your own development.
Rotations will take place within:
Network Services
Major Projects
Primary System Design
Innovations and Future Networks
To underpin what you have learnt, you will complete a series of tasks - highlighting the areas you must cover. Tasks are assessments of the knowledge you have gained during your placements.
