Meet Lee

Read Lee's interview to see what he thinks about working with us.

I came to the company on a TUPE transfer from E.ON during the acquisition of Central Networks back in 2011. Although I’d never heard of the company until the takeover I chose to apply for the Team Leader role knowing that it would offer me the same job security that I’m accustomed to in the electricity industry.

As the Team Leader of eleven staff I am responsible for their safety within the workplace whilst ensuring they are motivated, monitored and measured in line with the our KPI targets and standards. Prioritising and organising key day to day inventory activities in order to maximize productivity and ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner is a key part of my role.

I work closely with a number of key stakeholders within the business; Stores, Purchasing, Policy and the Network in order to maintain our excellent service level.  I also provide a number of key reports for suppliers, networks & senior managers whilst liaising daily with my line manager, discussing any stock issues and the wellbeing of the team.

My team (My working family)

Customer focused, staff supportive, invested in staff development.

Someone who is prepared to work hard, give it their best and adhere to our core values.

I’ve attended a number of internal and external training courses that have assisted in my career as a Team Leader/Manager. I have also been given new challenges that have stretched and developed me personally.

Successfully reducing the Inventory stock value over a four year period, thus increasing stores stock turn from 2.1 to 5+ turns, whilst maintaining a high service level to the business.

With our ever changing network and, from an inventory point of view, a vastly shrinking supplier base, it’s been very hard to anticipate what the business is going to require and when they need it.

However through great team work and stakeholder engagement we have helped manage change, improve customer relations, reduce stock values and improve material availability, which has helped us maintain a 99% service level.

Go for it! There’s nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
