Meet Steve

Read Steve's interview to see what he thinks about working with us.

I was a student studying Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Bath University and a sponsorship opportunity arose.  I thought the mix of technical and physical engineering would fit the career path I wanted to follow perfectly.

Being an NSM can be challenging, there is the Corporate element to the role but also the day to day challenges of keeping the lights on in the South West, facilitating new connections and maintaining the network.

Working with my teams, surmounting challenges and keeping the lights on!

Open and friendly, staff are encouraged to take the lead, make decisions and get the job done, all whilst maintaining high levels of safety and great customer service.

Being willing to go that extra mile, believing in what the company is trying to achieve and doing your bit to make it happen.

The company provides the foundations for great career progression, starting with our Apprentices and Planning Trainees through to internal development of existing staff to take on more challenging roles.  Many Senior Managers started their careers as Apprentices so that shows there are always opportunities.

Becoming a Network Services Manager, responsible for the South West area.

I’ve had many challenges, having worked in various jobs throughout the South West, both as a Manager and previously a Senior Project Engineer.  The main reason for overcoming them has been the help and support of the teams I have worked with along the way!

If you have a practical mind, come with fresh new ideas and are willing to work hard, this is a great company to work for.
