Meet Sian

Read Sian's interview to see what she thinks about working with us at Western Power Distribution.

I came to Western Power Distribution during the acquisition of Central Networks. Although I had offers of other opportunities, I chose Western Power Distribution for the stability and security that working directly for a utilities company offers.

As a Systems Administrator I help support, through development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate computer systems, the company's Inventory & Purchasing operation.

I also support the Nominated Site Owner with maintaining the health and safety and environmental responsibilities for this site.

A typical week can involve maintaining aspects of databases, updating inventory catalogues, organising site repairs and maintenance through a variety of contractors or managing the transfer of hazardous waste and environmental inspections.

The cohesive team atmosphere.

Customer focused, supportive, invested in staff development.

Somebody who holds Western Power Distributions core values, ambitious, conscientious.

I have attended a number of internal and external training courses that assist me in carrying out my job role. I have also been given new challenges that have stretched and developed me personally.

Achieving a WAMITAB diploma in waste management operations.

Assisting in gaining an environmental management accreditation for the site.

This involved working with a number of internal teams and external agencies to ensure the site and all the documentation was of the required standard to achieve the accreditation.

Go for it!
