Trainee Planner Jobs

Designing the network, our Planners work closely with our Engineers to efficiently and effectively carry out construction, reinforcement, alteration and replacement of our equipment. They’re also trusted by our customers to ensure that we are providing excellent levels of service. 

Training to become a Network Planner takes two years and involves being hands on and taking responsibility for the design, costing and quoting of projects such as new electricity supplies and the replacement/diversion/reinforcement of existing electricity network assets. 

Throughout, you’ll be assessed regularly, only moving on to the next stage when successfully completing the current stage. You’ll also be supported to achieve a foundation degree in Electrical Engineering through Aston University. 

Our minimum entry criteria require the following qualifications (held or predicted):
•    A Levels in Maths (Grade A*-C) AND Physics (Grade A*-D) OR
•    HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering OR
•    Degree in Maths, Physics, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.

Whatever qualifications you hold, we will need to see evidence of them for you to be considered.
